Elastic Beanstalk Tomcat with Node js Sockets

I am trying to migrate to Elastic Beanstalk. Right now I have an EC2 instance running Tomcat and node js to support our sockets. I noticed Elastic Beanstalk only allows you to pick one service. I picked Tomcat however, would I be able to install Nodejs as well? I noticed Elastic Beanstalk creates an EC2 instance which I was able to run both services. Is there any limitation to the number of backend services you can use in elastic beanstalk? Why does Elastic Beanstalk only allow you to pick one service? Is it for scaling purposes? Thank you
